Medi-Cal A public health insurance program that offers eligible individuals and families access to free or low-cost health care and dental coverage. Most people who apply for Medi-Cal can find out if they qualify based on their income. You can apply for Medi-Cal at any time of the year by mail, phone, fax, or email. You can also apply online or in person at your local county office.
It may take up to 45 days to process your Medi-Cal application. If you apply for Medi-Cal
based on disability, it may take up to 90 days.
Covered California The State’s health insurance marketplace. You can compare health plans from brand-name insurance companies or shop for a plan If your income is too high for Medi-Cal, you may qualify to purchase health insurance through Covered California.
